Genea

GENEA, æ, soll die Tochter der ersten Aeltern des menschlichen Geschlechtes, Protogonus und Aeon, geheißen haben. Sie wohnete mit ihrem Bruder Genus in Phönicien, und zeugete mit ihm den Phos, Pyr, Phlox, welche richt, Feuer und Flamme heißen. Durch das Reiben zweyer Stücken Holz an einander erfanden sie das Feuer, und bey einer großen Dürre hoben sie ihre Hände zur Sonne, welche sie Beelzamen, Herr des Himmels, nannten. Ihre Kinder waren von einer übermäßigen Größe, und gaben den Gebirgen, welche sie bewohneten, ihre Namen. Sanchon. ap. Euseb. P. E. l. I. c. 10. p. 33.
