Choker

Ein schwarzes Band als Choker

Das Choker (engl. choke = würgen) ist ein im 15. Jahrhundert aufgekommenes Modeschmuckaccessoire, das eine Länge von etwa 40 cm hat. Es bezeichnet eine eng anliegende Halskette, die in früheren Zeiten aus einer einreihigen Kette aus Perlen oder gleich großen Kugeln bestand, des Öfteren auch mit einem großen Schmuckstein. Im heutigen Modeerscheinen findet man das Choker öfters als ein dehnbares Band, aus Netz oder geflochtenen dehnbaren Materialien in den verschiedensten Farben.
