Dienstgradabzeichen des britischen Air MarshalAir Marshal (Air Mshl) ist ein Dienstgrad in der britischen Royal Air Force, der Royal Australian Air Force und der ehemaligen Royal Canadian Air Force.
Nach dem NATO-Rangcode entspricht der Air Marshal dem Generalleutnant bzw. Lieutenant General des Heeres und ist nicht gleichzusetzen mit dem Feldmarschall (Field Marshal). Der entsprechende Rang des Feldmarschall wäre der Marshal of the Royal Air Force (heute in Friedenszeiten abgeschafft). Höchster Rang in der heutigen Royal Air Force ist der Air Chief Marshal (Vier-Sterne-General). Dahinter rangieren der Air Marshal und der Vice Air Marshal, sowie der Air Commodore, der jedoch nicht mehr der Generalität zuzurechnen ist.
Der bekannteste britische Air Marshal war Arthur Harris („Bomber-Harris“). In der deutschen Wehrmacht wurde Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Göring als Luftmarschall bezeichnet, da er Befehlshaber der Luftwaffe war. Später wurde er zum Reichsmarschall befördert.
In den sowjetischen Streitkräften wurde der Marschall der Waffengattung Luftstreitkräfte ebenfalls als Luftmarschall bezeichnet.
Der Marschall der portugiesischen Luftwaffe entspricht einem Viersternegeneral.
