nihongo|Kakamigahara|各務原市|Kakamigahara-shi is a city located in the Gifu Prefecture of central Japan. It was founded on 1 April 1963 by the merger of Naka, Sohara, Unuma, and Inaba. Kakamigahara covers a total area of Convert|87.77|km2|mi2|2|abbr=on. On 1 March 2008 the city had an estimated population of 145,202 inhabitants, giving a population density of 1,654 persons per km².

Although the city was officially named Kakamigahara, it is also called Kakamihara, Kagamihara, or Kagamigahara by tradition.

Mergers

On 1 November 2004, Kakamigahara merged with the former town of Kawashima.
