Madhuca (Madhubruma, Bassia longifolia), ostindischer, häufig angebauter Baum, die getrockneten, den Rosinen ähnlichen Blüthen werden gegessen u. sind ein bedeutender Handelsartikel; die Früchte sind eßbar, die Samen ölreich, das Holz fest u. sehr nutzbar. Vgl. Galambutter u. Ilipeöl.
